During this NEW course, we explore how to bring together a lot of gemstones in a creative and interesting way. You'll learn various methods for building such a complex cluster. We also take a look at the design process. What makes a piece of jewelry interesting to look at and when does it leave you indifferent? How do you combine stones without creating chaos?

You'll execute the design with the gemstones you brought with you. If that goes smoothly, you'll also learn to set the stones yourself! These promise to be enriching and captivating days once again.

Advanced class The workshop takes place on the 10th, 11th and 12th of October

10 am to 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 4 pm

There are bakeries and a sandwich shop nearby. If you'd like to eat out, reserve a spot at Brasserie di Mauro or Oud Edegem. You can also bring your lunch to the studio.

Free parking is available at the basilica of Edegem in Hove street and at the parking lot of the Willecom sports hall or the music school in Terelststraat.

Gratis parkeren kan je doen aan de basiliek van Edegem in de Hove straat en op de parking van de sporthal Willecom of de muziekschool in de Terelststraat.

• Thick wire profiles for ring bands, if you want to make a ring
• Thin wire (1 mm) for claws (40 cm)
• (What and how much you need will depend on your designs and the size of your stones)
• Hinge tubes in various diameters, to use as setting boxesGemstones:
• Bring your entire collection. Ensure you have stones in various sizes and cuts, both cabochons and faceted stones are acceptable. This workshop will mainly focus on finer work. Especially ensure you have small stones, max. 8 mm in size.
• If you also want to do the specific setting exercise, ensure you have about 10 small cabochons of the same size (e.g., 3 mm) that you will place on a plate in a cluster.

Zilver:
plaat van 0,7 mm dik, van 1 mm en 2 mm, zorg dat je in totaal zeker 5 cm op 10 cm plaat hebt
Dikke draadprofielen voor ringbanden, als je een ring wil maken
dunne draad (1 mm) voor griffen (40 cm)
(wat en hoeveel je nodig hebt zal afhangen van je ontwerpen de grootte van je stenen)

scharnierbuizen in verschillende diameters, om als zetkast te gebruiken

Edelstenen:
Breng je hele verzameling maar mee. Zorg voor stenen in verschillende maten en slijpsels, dat mogen zowel cabuchons als geslepen stenen zijn. Bij deze workshop zullen we vooral focussen op fijner werk. Zorg vooral voor kleine stenen, max. 8 mm groot.
Wil je ook de specifieke zetoefening doen, zorg dan voor een 10-tal kleine cabuchons van dezelfde maat (vb 3 mm) die je op een plaatje in een cluster gaat plaatsen.
