Creative process class

by Amy Tavern

The creative process is about how artworks come to life and includes five steps: gathering inspiration, idea generation and development, preparation, creation, and reflection. Every artist has a unique process, and understanding yours can be a helpful tool for making stronger, more meaningful pieces and for dealing with studio challenges. In this three-week course, students will learn about the creative process, and they will begin to discover and define their own. Each week, different aspects of process will be introduced and explored through presentations, hands-on exercises, writing, and conversation. Students should also expect to spend some time working outside of class.

This class is an opportunity to deeply consider the how and why of your work. It’s also a great way to reinvigorate your practice if you’ve been feeling stuck or feel ready to explore new territory and are unsure where to begin.

WEBINAR

On Wednesday the 5th of November from 5pm until 7 pm CET, Masterjewelryskills will be hosting a free webinar.

We will interview Amy and talk about these topics and hope to inspire you in your own work:

  • How she finds beauty in the everyday and transforms it into art.
  • The rituals and practices that fuel her creativity.
  • Her transition from jewelry design to sculptural installations.
  • What it means to connect with an audience through shared experiences.
  • How she created a solution for when she gets stuck in her designing process
  • Transforming that process into the 'Creative process class'

This conversation is your opportunity to peek behind the curtain of an artist’s mind and explore the universality of memory and creativity. An invitation to the webinar will go out to all people on the waiting list. Subscribe at the bottom of this page.

Participants

Open to all artists with at least three years of art making experience in any field of creating.
