During this workshop we will focus on learning to work with steel and turn blank rods into punches, stamps and setting tools. You will learn to harden and temper the steel and work with the grinding machine. After that, you can choose what you want to make: chasing punches, setting tools, or stamps. Of course, you can make a combination of all three.

Tijdens deze workshop ligt de focus op het leren bewerken van staal. Je leert het staal harden en temperen en met de schuurmachine werken. Daarna kan je zelf kiezen waar jij de focus op legt: ciseleerponsen, zetstalen of stempels. Je kan ze uiteraard ook alle 3 combineren.

This workshop is for anyone who want to chase, make setting tools and create texture in jewelry. No prior knowledge is required. During the workshop, 36 blanks will be provided per person in various sizes and shapes.You will learn all the techniques during this workshop, but please keep in mind that you will need to continue working at home to turn all the blanks into the desired tools. What will you need for this? A bench vise, a grinding machine, a sufficiently powerful torch, a strong magnet.

This workshop will not be on the program every year, but will be scheduled whenever there are enough participants.

Deze workshop is voor iedereen die ciseleert, die zetstalen wil maken en textuur in juwelen wil creëren. Er is geen voorkennis nodig. Tijdens de workshop worden 36 stalen voorzien per persoon in verschillende maten en vormen. Je leert alle technieken aan tijdens deze workshop, maar hou er wel rekening mee dat je thuis zal moeten verder werken om een alle stalen tot het gewenste gereedschap te maken. Wat heb je daarvoor nodig? Een bankvijs, een schuurmachine , een voldoende krachtige brander, een sterke magneet.
Deze workshop zal niet elk jaar op het programma staan, maar wordt telkens ingepland, wanneer er genoeg deelnemers zijn.

Beginners and advanced: You can participate without prior knowledge

10 am to 12:30 pm and 13:30 pm to 4 pm

Max 6 participants

During the lunch break, the studio closes for an hour. The bakery next to the workshop offers sandwiches, closing day on Thursdays. In good weather, you can eat your lunch in the park. Diagonally across from the workshop, you'll find lunch bar Kafé Kwafé and café De Hoogmis. If you'd like a more fancy meal, you can go to Da Mauro or Oud Edegem, where it's best to make a reservation.

Free parking is available at the basilica of Edegem in Hove street and at the parking lot of the Willecom sports hall or the music school in Terelststraat.

Tijdens de middagpauze sluit het atelier. De bakker naast het atelier heeft belegde broodjes, gesloten op donderdag. Bij mooi weer kan je je lunch in het park opeten. Schuinover het atelier vind je luchbar Kafé Kwafé en cafe de Hoogmis. Wil je iets uitgebreider eten dan kan je terecht bij Da Mauro of Oud Edegem, daar reserveer je best.

Gratis parkeren kan je doen aan de basiliek van Edegem in de Hove straat en op de parking van de sporthal Willecom of de muziekschool in de Terelststraat.
